Over the last couple of days I had the pleasure of spending a few nights at the Sparkling Hills Resort in Vernon.
In addition to teeing up at a few golf courses with my hubby I had the incredible experience of trying out the cold sauna at the spa at the Sparkling Hills.
It was definitely a “cool” experience and something I am glad I tried. 3 FULL minutes in a -110 degree cold sauna! I’ll be the first to admit that 3 minutes feels like a long time in -110.
So… Why would someone subject themselves to something like this that obviously sounds crazy to a sane mind?
The therapeutic practice of a cold sauna is called Cryotherapy. By entering into a -110°C temperature for up to three minutes (there are two pre-chambers that you quickly pass through, one at -15°C, the next at -60°C), conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain and muscle and joint inflammation are said to be improved.
So… Would I do it again? Absolutely… Brrrrrrrrring it on!
